The Programming Committee provides oversight of the station’s programming and schedule, its quality, and fulfillment of our mission.

A Programmer is a person with regular and ongoing responsibility for presentation of a radio show aired on KKFI 90.1 FM and who contributes on a regular basis (or fill-in basis) to the content of a radio show, including but not limited to producers, engineers, announcers, disc jockeys and writers.

Any person who wishes to become a Programmer must agree to contribute regular and reliable volunteer work to the corporation (currently four hours of which at least two must be non-show hours), and have read and agree to support our Mission and Philosophy Statements. Regular service is defined as performing a minimum number of hours, as recommended by the Programming Committee and approved by the Board, of volunteer service to the corporation each month for a minimum of six months.

KKFI is proud to announce the 2014 Band Auction scheduled for April 10-28, 2014. The band auction represents an on-air music festival, featuring dozens of your favorite area bands and musicians for over two weeks.

HOW IT WORKS
Nearly 100 talented local entertainers usually sign up to donate a two-hour concert to be auctioned to the highest bidder during KKFI 90.1 FM’s annual Band Auction.

We schedule each act for 30 minutes during an appropriate music show during the Band Auction, which is usually held over a ten-day period in April. During that 30 minutes, listeners call in and bid. The high bidder works with the band or solo act to arrange for a two-hour gig sometime during the next 12 months. This could be a birthday party, anniversary, block party, class reunion, or just for the heck of it party.

For Bands and Performers Only: Sign Up to Donate Your Performance to KKFI

If you are a member of a music band or an individual musical performer and would like to donate a performance for the benefit of KKFI, then call Bill Clause during business hours at 816-931-3122 or write billc@kkfi.org.
