Our guest is currently active with youth and families in KCK. Twoana Clark-Sheppard, Licensed Mental Health Professional and founder of Abundant Living Legacy dedicated to supporting individuals, families, and communities toward mental, spiritual and overall wellness through personal and professional development as well as counseling and life coaching. Twoana has presented and trained for many area and national organizations including FEMA, Mid-America Regional Council, and Girls Scouts of America. She has over 22 years in the social service and counseling field.

Last month, Kansas City based union Operating Engineers Local 101 opened its own healthcare facility, the Union Health and Wellness Center for union members and their families. The union says it’s a groundbreaking concept. The Heartland Labor Forum will visit the center, find out what the members think and ask whether other unions should do the same. All this Thursday at 6pm, rebroadcast Friday at 5am.

 


Native Spirit Radio host Rhonda LeValdo interviews Debbie Reese, Nambe Pueblo scholar who publishes  http://americanindiansinchildrensliterature.blogspot.com/ We will discuss her work in educating others about harmful stereotypes of Native Americans in Children’s Literature.

John Fish Kurmann, Josh King, and Craig Wolfe presented “The Climate Mobilization: The Case for Immediate Action.” KC Climate Coalition sponsored the event, with Heartland Renewable Energy Society as co-sponsor.
