Rashaan Gilmore, along with members of Project I Am's Youth Advisory Board. The mission of Project I Am is to curb the growing number of new HIV infections among young black men who have sex with men (YBMSM). This mission is in line with national HIV/AIDS strategies to reach an AIDS free generation. In the Kansas City metro area the fight against HIV/AIDS has always had the community’s best interest at heart. Project I Am estimates that there are approximately 1,200 young black men who have sex with men (MSM) at risk in the Kansas City area, based on recent studies and 2009 Census projections. Project I Am efforts will reach out to these young men. Especially those YBMSM and their partners living primarily in Jackson County, Missouri and Wyandotte and Johnson Counties in Kansas. The project title symbolizes the pride and power that each young man possesses. Our efforts are to allow these young men to use this power to engage, encourage and empower their community’s to join in efforts towards seeing a day with zero new HIV infections, zero AIDS related deaths and zero HIV positive clients not engaged in HIV medical care. This special presentation of Radio Active Magazine is a thank you Mr. Bill Clause show from all of the activist groups and people associated with the show.  Radio Active Magazine was Bill’s idea a little over a year ago.  His concern was that activist groups should have a forum available on which they could present their views, opinions, and information to the people of greater Kansas City.  Like most all things Bill sets his sights on, he accomplished that.  Radio Active hit the airwaves of KKFI a year ago, first monthly, then every two weeks, until it became a weekly presentation.  All the activists associated with Radio Active have much to thank Bill Clause for and this episode of Radio Active is our way of doing that.
