The Roots-Wise Reggae music program features Reggae music and global roots music from all over the planet. The show is an informative journey that explores and honors reggae and African world roots musical forms from their genesis through their development and into their contemporary styles.

Tim Finn, Music Writer for The Kansas City Star and Ink, wrote that Wednesday MidDay Medley was the "Best Place To Hear Local Music On The Radio: The place to listen to new local music and often hear performers talk about it." (December 4, 2013). The show features new releases, local artists, glam, indie, punk, funk, folk, hip hop, classic country, jazz, lo-fi, electronic, soul, latin, broadway, cuban, african, ambient, and live in-studio performances from area musicians, performers, and writers. Specials include our ongoing "New & Local Releases," "A Story in a Song," our four-week December series: "The 100 Best Recordings of the Year," and our quarterly programs produced & hosted by Maria Vasquez Boyd and Marion Merritt.
World Sound Radio provides a window on the world of popular and traditional music not heard on other broadcast media in the Kansas City area. It also provides a unique service airing live, international world music artists who visit the metropolitan area.
