Sprouts Radio from the Grassroots is a 30-minute weekly program featuring radio programs produced at community radio stations or by other independent producers from across the country and sometimes around the world.
On a special Earth Day episode, we look at the island of Vieques. Vieques was used as a bombing range by the US military and has been partially transformed into a wildlife refuge. We look into what environmental effects this is still having and what the federal government is not doing. We also talk about the new community radio station being built there called Radio Vieques. See how radio and the environment go hand in hand.
