India dismantles the practice of giving daughters to temples

In 1988, the government of India outlawed the so-called Devadasi system, a practice in which young girls were dedicated to the service of a deity. In today’s WINGS program, Indu Ramesh and her team cover the history and distortions of this southern India tradition, up to the present when according to the government it has disappeared.
