Local Attorney David Bell and Melissa Patterson-Hazley PHD, an Educational Psychologist give you the opportunity to talk about some of the most important stories of the day. The fatal police shootings of Philando Castile, near St. Paul, Minnesota, and Alton Sterling, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana followed by the killing of five police officers and wounding of many more by a sniper in Dallas highlights the mistrust and animosity between African American communities and the police nationwide. How does the war on drugs, inequalities in the justice system and the burgeoning prison industrial complex play into those animosities?
