Ani Cordero

Our guest this week on Art of the Song is Ani Cordero, a singer-songwriter-drummer-activist living in NYC. In addition to her performing, Ani is a Latin American music researcher. Raised in Atlanta by Puerto Rican parents, she spent her childhood traveling between Atlanta and San Juan. Ani’s second CD Querido Mundo was released in early 2017. The album is her love letter to a complicated world and addresses several themes including immigration, Black Lives Matter, Feminism, and government corruption. We had the pleasure of talking with Ani at the 2017 conference of Folk Alliance International. In the second half of the show we’ll hear from John Dillon as he talks about our new mobile life for the Creativity Corner.
