ARTSPEAK RADIO is a live radio program on KKFI that airs every Wednesday from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. Host Maria Vasquez Boyd serves up information about the visual and literary arts community including live interviews with artists, writers, and performers.
Blair Schulman will be speaking with Lauren Sobchak. She is a welder and weaver by trade in addition to her art practice. Over the last three years she has focused on handwoven structures, fabricated metal sculptures and pieced artworks. Her work has been exhibited in spaces such as City Ice Arts, Vulpes Bastille, Hearth at Farm to Market, and the H&R Block Artspace at the Kansas City Art Institute. She has worked for several artists and designers including Paul Mesner of Paul Mesner Puppets INC, Holly Stewart, and Jason Pollen. Lauren will be a graduate from the Kansas City Art Institute located in Kansas City, Missouri in August 2014.
