Mattie Rhodes Capital Campaign Project-The campaign to establish the Mattie Rhodes Cultural Center will provide a place for children and adults to EXPLORE fearlessly; LEARN visually, tactilely, and kinesthetically; enrich life through what they CREATE; all in a place to feel safe, celebrate and BELONG.
Mattie Rhodes Center is excited to announce a capital campaign to build the Mattie Rhodes Cultural Center. We envision this new Center to be a safe space for creativity and community, bustling with innovation and inspiration for thousands of neighbors and visitors each year.

The Mattie Rhodes Cultural Center will be an approximately 10,000 square foot, energy-efficient building that is artistically and culturally relevant for the neighborhood. Expanded offerings at the Cultural Center will satisfy a variety of interests and establish a continuum of care across age ranges in eight strategic areas, all of which respond to the needs of improving access to arts education, enhancing arts and cultural opportunities, and providing more arts learning and engagement opportunities. Its priorities are to provide:

Gallery space to house the Hand-In-Hand Folk Art Collection as well as rotating exhibits.

Open concept classroom space that will foster community based learning.

Structured educational programs that will focus on early learning & after school programs

Event & gathering space to allow for community engagement and interaction.

The Cultural Center will preserve, celebrate and develop Latino Cultural Arts and continue the important work of shaping the artistic and cultural experiences of all Kansas Citians. Questions about the capital campaign? Please call us at 816-581-5622 or email [email protected].
