ARTSPEAK RADIO is a live radio program on KKFI that airs every Wednesday from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. Host Maria Vasquez Boyd serves up information about the visual and literary arts community including live interviews with artists, writers, and performers.
Donald R. Simon is president of Simon Business Consulting, Inc., a firm concentrating in media- and arts-based entrepreneurship. He also serves as a procurement analyst in the IT Department of YRCFreight, Inc. Don teaches law, business, and communications courses at several area colleges and universities. He lectures and writes extensively on legal and business matters and has appeared in KC Business, Billboard, and Screen.
Don serves on the board of directors of the Kansas City Volunteer Lawyers & Accountants for the Arts and for the Midwest Music Foundation. He also co-owner and General Counsel for Mudstomp Records, LLC, a record label featuring roots and Americana music. In 2013, Don was voted one of the top three “Best Attorneys” in Kansas City by readers of The Pitch Kansas City and was given an “Entrepreneurial All-Star Award” the previous year by the Kauffman Foundation.
Don received his Juris Doctor and Master of Laws (Intellectual Property) degrees from The John Marshall Law School and his Bachelor of Arts (Communications) from Missouri Southern State University.
