ARTSPEAK RADIO presents, Four Playwrights On Air

Maria welcomes playwrights, Jose Faus, Vicki Vodrey, Kevin King, and Michelle T. Johnson who present their 10 minute play live from the KKFI studio.

VICKI VODREY
Vicki is a playwright and the owner of Lot In Life Productions, LLC. In 2014, her KC Fringe show, “Hard Day’s Night”, was picked by KC Metropolis as one of the best shows of the 2013-2014 KC theatre season. Her play, “The Frowning Vajayjays of Shady Pines”, was selected by Script2Stage2Screen for their 2014-2015 season, first being produced by KC Melting Pot last spring. Her play, “Hanky Panky”, was a top-rated show at the 2010 KC Fringe Fest and received an honorable mention in the TRU Voices Playwriting Competition that same year. “Hanky Panky” was in the Midtown International Theatre Festival in 2011 in NYC, and was nominated in three categories, including Outstanding Script. Her play, “Thank You Notes: Headed To Heaven W/ Flat Jimmy Fallon”, was in KC Fringe in 2012 and then headed straight to the MITF. This award winning production received terrific reviews in both cities, and the production was nominated for five awards, including Outstanding Script. MICHELLE T. JOHNSON
Currently, Ms. Johnson is a writer, public speaker and diversity consultant/trainer who has a column in the business section of the Kansas City (Mo.) Star called “Diversity Diva” and has been appointed by the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights to be a member of its Kansas Advisory Committee.

Ms. Johnson is a former employment attorney for two Kansas City, Missouri law firms, including one of the largest in the city (Husch Blackwell Sanders LLC), representing companies and organizations in employment litigation, including Hallmark Cards, the Kansas City, MissouriSchool District, Deffenbaugh Industries, DST, Kansas City Power and Light and Interstate Brands Corporation (IBC).

A certified mediator who has practiced law in the states of Missouri and Kansas, Ms. Johnson has performed mediations for the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Kansas City, Missouri Human Relations Department and private mediations.
