ARTSPEAK RADIO is a live radio program on KKFI that airs every Wednesday from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. Host Maria Vasquez Boyd serves up information about the visual and literary arts community including live interviews with artists, writers, and performers.
Maria talks with writer Wayne Courtois Seligman & actor/writer David Wayne Reed about the Celebration of Queerness 2015.
Wayne Courtois Seligman was born in Portland, Maine, and currently lives in Kansas City, Missouri with his longtime partner. His other works include the award-winning memoir A Report from Winter and the novels Tales My Body Told Me, and In the Time of Solution 9.
David Wayne Reed has been described as an “actor, writer and a bon vivant” as well as “a one-man classic rock circus.” Reed’s most recent play, “Help Yourself” debuted February 2015.

JT Daniels, “I’m a Kansas City, Kansas native and I have an overwhelming passion and love for creating art. I graduated from Park University with a BA emphasizing in painting and illustration. Currently, my work is an in depth look into style and self expression. My current work focuses on the varied aspects of human hair. Growing up, hearing the term ‘nappy’ always made me envision portions of hair on a person’s head — my sisters in particular — going to war with a comb, straightening iron, grease and creams on a constant basis. It was as if my sisters’ hair was a nation experiencing apartheid.”
