The "Exploration" radio show is an hour-long science program heard nationally. Exploration covers the world of science, war and peace, and the environment. The show has commentary and interviews with top scientists and environmentalists.
On this edition of Exploration, Dr. Michio Kaku has Dr. Neil Tyson on to discuss an introduction to astronomy for newbies. Later, Dr. Fulvia Melia is in to chat about the science of black holes. About the guests:
Neil deGrasse Tyson is an American astrophysicist and science communicator. He is currently the Frederick P. Rose Director of the Hayden Planetarium at the Rose Center for Earth and Space and a research associate in the department of astrophysics at the American Museum of Natural History. From 2006 to 2011 he hosted the educational science television show NOVA ScienceNow on PBS and has been a frequent guest on The Daily Show, The Colbert Report, Real Time with Bill Maher, and Jeopardy!. It was announced on August 5, 2011, that Tyson will be hosting a new sequel to Carl Sagan‘s Cosmos: A Personal Voyage television series.
Fulvio Melia (born 2 August 1956) is an Italian–Australian–American astrophysicist and author. He is Professor of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Arizona and has been an Associate Editor of The Astrophysical Journal Letters. A former Presidential Young Investigator and Sloan Research Fellow, he is the author of six books and 175 refereed articles on theoretical astrophysics.
