Black Lives Matter

This week, Sprouts explores the Black Lives Matter Movement, hearing an excerpted speech from the movement’s co-founder Alicia Garza at the University of Southern Maine in March 2015. Then, Adrienne Lauby from KPFA, Berkeley, CA interviews a number of white people in Sonoma County, CA who are stepping up and organizing in their area where white people are the large majority. Finally, Christina Aanestad talks with Brianna Gibson of Black Brunch, a group who disrupts “business as usual” in order to increase awareness of systemic racism and social injustice.
