Breakthrough: Transforming Fear Into Compassion – A New Perspective on the Israel-Palestine Conflict

Rich Forer was strongly, even reflexively pro-Israel until a friend challenged him to do some research on the Israel-Palestinian conflict. He did, and his perspective changed. In the first part of this week’s edition of Every Woman, Forer, the author of the book Breakthrough: Transforming Fear Into Compassion – A New Perspective on the Israel-Palestine Conflict, talks about the role that his Jewish identity played in his one-sided view of the conflict and how his understanding of both evolved as he did more exploration.

Later in the program, members of a local peace group called Citizens for Justice in the Middle East, talk about how they came to be involved in the struggle for Palestinian rights and why the U.S. should be more even-handed in its approach to peacemaking.
