It Is Time For Penny Mill Picnic 2016

The purpose of the Community Empowerment Event is to link persons in need of assistance with organizations which may be of help to them in a casual and less threatening environment. We accomplish this by teaming with various private and government agencies throughout the Kansas City Metropolitan area. Go to our website, for a list of the businesses and agencies who will have information booths at the event.

This event also, provides an opportunity for the general public to gain awareness in regard to many resources in the greater Kansas City Metropolitan area which is available to them and to encourage their constructive use of those resources in order to empower individuals to achieve self-sufficiency and a better life for themselves and their family.

Host Keith Brown El talks with Melvin Merritt, Director of Penny Mill Inc. about this year’s Penny Mill Picnic. A local event to give young people on KC’s East side a chance to experience different cultures, have fun and build self identity. Everyone is invited to come enjoy the music, the food, games, face painting and all the different ethnic and community groups at Blue Valley Park, 23rd and Topping, KCMO, 9 AM, Saturday, August 13th.
