Cafétheoque Paris: GOODFood+Wine with Paige Donner

This episode of Paris GOODfood+wine features Gloria Montenegro and Christina Montenegro, a mother and daughter team who are behind the famous La Cafeotheque in Paris, France. Gloria Montenegro is the former Guatemalan Ambassador to France and her love of Guatemalan coffee inspired her to open up La Cafeotheque over a decade ago in central Paris. She and Christina have since inspired and trained hundreds of coffee connoisseurs at their resident cafeologie, a school at the Cafotheque that trains people in how to properly roast coffee, coffee appreciation and other expert facets of coffee culture.

Christina and her mother, Gloria Montenegro, are also authors of the newly released book, Cafeologie, which was just published in French in November 2017.

We also hear commentary from Lionel Pinot who is part of the Terres de Cafe team in Paris. Before joining the blossoming entrepreneurial-oriented coffee start-up, he worked in and comes from the world of wine. Host Paige Donner‘s interview with him highlights how the rise of the specialty coffee culture in Paris, France can be attributed in part to a wine tasting approach to coffee tasting.
