Carl Burris Tells All About Foster Care In Kansas And Give Recommendations For Change
Carl Burris spent part of his childhood in the Kansas Foster Care System and he tells about some of the horrors he has seen and endured. Kansas like almost all other state has a system that is built around monetary payments to the Foster Parents, but is not structured to be responsive to the needs of the child and is under funded and over burdened with cases.
Host Craig Lubow spoke with Carl Burris about his life in Foster Care, changes he would like to see and his work with Kansas Appleseed to bring about those changes through regulation and legislation
