The Chilean Coup d’etat 1973

On this edition of From The Vault, we celebrate the life of Salvador Allende, born June 26, 1908 and elected as President of Chile in 1970.

His life was cut short as a result of the United States backed 1973 Coup d’etat that gave General Augusto Pinochet military rule for the next 17 years. This program was produced by former KPFK Uprising producer Gabriel San Roman who used only recordings from the Pacifica Radio Archives to weave this tale.

We are proud to say, You would be hard pressed to find more extensive and meaningful coverage of these events from any US media outlet.
