Connie Dover’s New Release; Interview with Trevor Hutchinson of Lunasa

Called ‘the finest folk ballad singer this country has produced since Joan Baez’ by the Boston Globe, Connie Dover is a homegrown American treasure. To date, Connie has released five albums tracing the Celtic roots of America’s music. We kick off today’s show with selections from Restless Angel, her brand-new release.

Then at 12:15 we interview Trevor Hutchinson from the band Lunasa, internationally recognized as the finest traditional Irish instrumental band of recent times. Trevor is in town because Lunasa takes the stage tonight at the Kansas City Irish Center for an evening of Irish music and storytelling. Ashley Davis, internationally recognized recording artist and songwriter (and Lawrence native), opens the show. You’ll be hearing from her 2012 release ‘Songs of a Celtic Winter’.

In between and afterwards we’ll bring you some of our favorites from the Celtic revival of the 70s & 80s.
