Jane Jacobs (1916-2006), authored 9 books including The Life and Death of Great American Cities, and Dark Age Ahead. She had a profound effect on urban planning, and a deep belief in the common sense of ordinary people. In this, one of her last talks, she tells about her fears for urban culture’s future, and where her hope lies.
