Local Showcase
The Local ShowCase features live or recorded performances of music, poetry, prose, etc. of local and regional artists. This showcase is hosted by a variety of KKFI programmers covering a broad spectrum of musical genres.
We have a special show this week featuring great young artists making original music in Kansas City.
Our first hour of the Local Showcase features Cristian Mendoza, a KCK rapper known as DizzyDoza, who is sure to change your perspective on hip hop. DizzyDoza is a prolific writer whose poetry speaks the truth about urban life without glamorizing violence or other social problems. We’ll listen to songs from his new release, The Storybook and interview Christian about all that inspires the intelligent and honest lyrics along with his unique vocal flow.
The second hour of the show will showcase the new music from Ditallu, an original electronic music project by multi-instrumentalist Sam Sanem. Ditallu combines elements of an array of genres like R&B, trap, jazz, world and ambient music. Check out the ethereal and futuristic sounds inspired by the wonders of chamomile tea.
