Sharon Lockhart of KKFI (host of Every Woman, Saturdays at 3 p.m.) interviews Dee Barry and Ben Kjelshus, founding members of the Green Party. The topic is Ecological Literacy, also know as Ecoliteracy. The term was coined by American educator David W. Orr and physicist Fritjof Capra in the 1990s. Ecoliteracy concerns understanding the principles of organisation of ecosystems and their potential application to understanding how to build a sustainable human society. The ability to understand the natural systems that make life on earth possible underscores the totality of the interconnectiveness of all things.
