Elizabeth Hareza

Elizabeth Hareza is raw, honest, hilariously quirky and out for the greater good.  Spreading love and music is her passion and she does that through sharing stories about her real life, experiences of others (anonomyously of course) and a few tall tales here and there.  She is based in Park City, UT but travels regularly to performances.  If you would like to hear her play in your town, I’m sure she will find a way to make it work.

“In elementary school, a teacher told me that I would never have as much talent in my entire body as Bobby Mcferrin has in his pinky finger.” She says. “At first, I chose to believe it.  It took many years and a killer HBO documentary on Bobby Mcferrin for me to realize that she was wrong.  I don’t want anyone else to be made feel like they cannot accomplish their dreams.  The most beautiful thing about music is that there are so many different kinds to choose from.  If you are true to yourself and sing about what you believe in, you can move mountains.” Says Hareza.

After a childhood of feeling misunderstood and the untimely death of her father, Elizabeth has found herself grateful that “different” is the new “cool”.  She runs a bi-monthly songwriting group in Park City where she brings community members and passers by together to share their love of music and writing.  Her groups include everyone from professional songwriters to people who have never even written a song.  “It is meant to be a safe space where anyone can come, feel welcome and encouraged, meet new friends and share some love.  We ask people to leave their ego’s at home and I’m not afraid to ask someone to not return if they have anything but the utmost respect for everyone else in the room.” She says. “It’s about spreading love and good vibes, not telling people about your superior level of awesomeness.  If you are at one of our songwriter groups we already assume that you are, so there is no need to boast.” She says with a grin.
