A Family Coping With Murder Of Alexis Murder

Alexis Mitchell was a 16 year old girl that was severely wounded in a shooting at the Park Meadows Apartments on December 13th and died two days later. While someone has been taken into custody in connection with her death that does little to alleviate the emotional and economic devastation wrought on her family.

Demanding Jails Provide Feminine Hygiene For Female Prisoners

A group of citizens are demanding the Franklin County, Kansas County jail provide feminine hygiene products for women in their jail. As many as 50% of those housed in county jails around the country are awaiting trial and have not been convicted of anything but cannot afford bail. Conditions in many of these jails are worse than penitentiaries, with health and safety of prisoners and guards compromised daily.
