Fat Tuesday, Folk Withdrawal Stress Syndrome and Joe Ely

Diana Linn always lets the good times roll on The Tasty Brew but this week’s show actually falls on that crazy day known as Fat Tuesday.  This week’s playlist includes some appropriate gems from Clifton Chenier, Francis Cabrel and the Blind Boys of Alabama.  It will take months for your host to get through all the musical discoveries from this past Folk Alliance International conference held in Kansas City but tune in for lots of gems from the Red Dirt contingent from Oklahoma and others like Grant Peeples, Amy Black and Rod Picott.  And last, but certainly not least, a reading from Joe Ely’s book Bonfire of Roadmaps and a Billy Joe Shaver cover from the man himself.  It’s not a mishmash…it’s a Tasty Brew of Americana, Bluegrass, Country, Roots and Folk.  Folk yeah!
