Floyd Bledsoe – A Kansas Exoneree; and A Veteran’s Town Hall On PTSD

Floyd Bledsoe – A Kansas Exoneree

Floyd Bledsoe spent 15 years in prison for the murder of his 14-year-old sister-in-law. His brother, originally confessed to the brutal rape and killing, then recanted and blamed Floyd. Years later Floyd’s brother once again confessed in a suicide note. Attorneys with the Project for Innocence and Post-Conviction Remedies at the University of Kansas Law School, which sought a retrial for Bledsoe for more than 10 years, released DNA evidence showing that semen in the victim’s body most likely came from Tom Bledsoe — not Floyd.

Floyd Bledsoe is now free and will be talking to Host Craig Lubow about his experience trying to get the justice system to accept the facts and what he is doing now that he is out.

A Veteran’s Town Hall On PTSD

Veterans and active duty personnel are affected by Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome and it will take more than the Veterans Administration to take care of the problem. The Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 317 is holding a Town Hall Meeting for those suffering from PTSD and their families. There will be information on resources to help, a chance for veterans and family members to tell their story and more.

Host Jessica Thomas will host Dr Tom Hall, Randy Barnett, Roland , and Popeye Mathis, members of the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 317 to tell about this event and why they are bringing these folks together. The Veterans Town Hall Meeting on PTSD will be Saturday May 6th, 10am – 3pm at the Southside Optomists, 11154 Blue Ridge Blvd, KCMO.
