“The Tasty Brew” is an eclectic mix of roots music formed by the shared and varied traditions that make up the American musical melting pot.
It’s been five months since Folk Alliance International invaded Kansas City’s Crown Center Hotel, but planning for the 2015 is already in full swing. Our town was blown away by the quality and quantity of world class musicians that graced our town for over a week. This week’s Tasty Brew edition of Your Tuesday Morning Buzz will highlight many Folk Alliance artists including Amy Black. See Amy here. Black is a Boston-based singer/songwriter with storytelling and Southern tradition in her blood. In record time, she’s become one of the most sought after acts in the East, sharing stages with Chris Isaak, The Courtyard Hounds, Emmylou Harris and Rodney Crowell and headlining at some of the region’s best venues. Amy grew up in Missouri and Alabama and at 15, moved to Massachusetts and will be appearing this Saturday night, July 26, with Tasty Brew favorite Sky Smeed at Knucklehead’s Gospel Lounge.
