Pacifica Radio Archives’ “From the Vault”
Each week the Pacifica Radio Archives chooses a program "From the Vault" of broadcasts in a half-hour program.
We’re very grateful to the Pacifica affiliate stations that broadcast From the Vault. We receive wonderful responses from your listeners that convince us that through these broadcasts we are deepening the public’s understanding of ourselves through our audio time capsule.
You will hear riveting excerpts of: Studs Terkel, Jimi Hendrix, a Kurt Vonnegut surprise, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Angela Davis, and Judy Chicago, including the holiday story A Christmas Eve Truce (World War I). And for the holidays..woven in will be holiday song or two donated to the Pacifica radio archives by the artists for the holidays. Holiday songs include the works of Jackson Browne, Holly Near, Louise Goffin, and Gaby Moreno.
