Future of Nuclear Energy

This morning on Exploration, guest Michael Mariotte of the Nuclear Information Resource Service will chat to Michio Kaku about an update on Fukushima and the future of nuclear energy and the greenhouse effect.

About the guest:

Michael Mariotte. Executive Director and the chief spokesperson for NIRS. He came to NIRS in 1985 and has led the organization since 1986. He has made numerous television appearances and has been widely quoted in the press. He has testified in the United States Senate and before the U.S. House of Representatives on radioactive waste transportation; radioactive metals “recycling;” the future of the nuclear power industry; “one-step” reactor licensing and other issues. He has also spoken before Parliamentary bodies in Bulgaria and Hungary, and appeared at conferences and media events in Greece, Ukraine, Slovakia, Germany and elsewhere. He is a graduate of Antioch College.
