G.Y.R.L. – Breaking The Silence Around Domestic Violence

Give Yourself Real Love

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and we have asked Ms E of Give Yourself Real Love to come back in and tell us more about their work in the community. For a number of years now G.Y.R.L. has been holding a series of public forums for victims and abusers to talk about how they became embroiled in domestic violence.

Host Melvin Merritt will talk with Ms. E, Latahra Canady Smith & Natasha Raising Leaders Sears, all members of G.Y.R.L. who have experienced domestic abuse about their stories. They will tell about their efforts to open the dialogue between abuser and abused and break down to taboo of discussing what happens behind closed doors.
