George Orwell’s Nineteen Eighty-Four, Part 12

On this week’s From The Vault, we continue with a reading of George Orwell‘s classic novel, 1984, with Part TWELVE of our dramatic reading.

The entire book was read on-air by longtime Pacifica Morning show host Charles Morgan and legendary voice over artist June Foray in 1975 produced for Pacifica Radio by Paul Vangelisti.

We left off as our hero, Winston, had been tortured for months, given a steady dose of beatings, electroshock, starvation and psychotropic drugs to wear him down to his very core and strip him of his beliefs.

We haven’t heard from Julia since she was arrested.

O’Brien is currently making one of his biggest appeals to Winston to understand the world Big Brother’s Way..
