Growing up Iranian-American in Kansas City

How do you describe an experience of “different” or “other”? The social identities of Persians and Iranian-Americans can fall on a narrow spectrum of “other” to “common stereotype”. Raised by Iranian immigrant parents within an active Iranian Community, guest host Marriam Zarabi draws on her own memory and personal experience of difference to explore her ethnic identity as a second generation Iranian in Kansas City.
