History of Voting in Mississippi

Heather Gray, along with Ernest Dunkley of the Just Peace program on Pacifica affiliate station WRFG in Atlanta, Georgia, interview Mississippi activist Wendell Paris about Mississippi politics and activism history prior to the midterm election runoff for the US Senate between the democratic candidate Mike Espy and the Republican candidate Cindy Hyde-Smith. Wendell has a long history of civil rights work. He worked with the Federation of Southern Cooperatives at its 1,000-acre training center in west Alabama and as the field director of the NAACP in Mississippi. While now serving as a pastor in Mississippi, he continues with his activism.
