She for He: Ideas of a Men’s Rights Woman

In July 2018, 50.50 attended the International Conference on Men’s Issues in London, England, where men’s rights activists from 24 different countries discussed evils of feminism and what can be done about it. After a brief and revealing statement by conference organizer Alastair, the focus is on Lara Whyte‘s long interview with Karen Straughan. Straughan’s thesis is that women are more privileged than men, and she points out that under none of the major world economic systems of recent times have men been respected if they reveal their pain.

Featuring:

Lara Whyte, special projects director of Open Democracy’s 50.50 project; Alastair from the British anti-feminist political party Justice for Men and Boys; Karen Straughan, a famous Canadian anti-feminist.

Credits:

Interview with Karen Straughan and podcast narration by Lara Whyte; Alastair interview by Adam Bychawski; Camille Mijola, feminist investigative journalism fellow; editor of Open Democracy 50-50, Claire Provost. Additional script, Frieda Werden.
