Jerry Shechter is Sustainability Coordinator for the City of Kansas City, Missouri, City Manager’s Office of Environmental Quality. He has helped develop the Kansas City, Missouri Climate Protection Plan, the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant Program, and co-founded the Metropolitan Energy Center. Mr. Shechter will talk about global climate change and about Kansas City policies and practices to help reverse climate change as well as to adapt to its unavoidable adverse effects.
