The Local And National Effort To Elect Progressive Prosecutors; and KS ACLU Working To Get Municipal IDs

The Local And National Effort To Elect Progressive Prosecutors

Host Keith Brown El discusses with Hedy Harden, Rashad Lartey and Jeff Francis, Community Activists, about local and national efforts to make voters aware of the need for progressive prosecutors in their communities. They will talk about local prosecutors’ role in mass incarceration and efforts to educate and elect fair prosecutors. Our guests were active during the recent Missouri CURE conference, and the ideas presented in our program today will share with all listeners of the current need for voters to be involved in efforts to have fair prosecutors. The re-entry and re-habilitation of prisoners is a vital issue to our communities.

KS ACLU Working To Get Immigrants IDs

Host Craig Lubow talks with Alex Martinez, a Field Organizer with the Kansas ACLU about his efforts to get ID’s issued to undocumented immigrants in Wyandotte County. He explains how this program would allow for these folks to get housing, enroll their children in school and more.

Corey’s Network invites survivors of murder to their weekly workshops to learn how to deal with grief, the media, investigation, court, and moving forward after a homicide has occurred. This is a workshop, not a grief group. We will be having guest speakers, and will candidly discuss how to survive and thrive after losing someone we love.  You should bring something to take notes with and please include only those individuals mature enough in age to deal with issues being covered during the meeting.   The next workshop, Beginning the Journey, will be held Monday, October 29th from 6 to 8 PM at the Church of the Four Corners, 14300 E. US HWY 40, KCMO.  The church is located East of the HyVee at 40 Hwy and Noland Rd.  For more information and listing of future workshops call 816-834-9161 or email [email protected]
