Local food production is all the rage these days, but amidst its many the virtues environmentally, in health, animal welfare, and saving small farms, few pay attention to the lives and working conditions of the farmworkers who produce this food. On this week’s Heartland Labor Forum we talk to author Maggie Gray about her book Labor and the Locavore. Then the Kansas legislature just plucked the rights of teachers to due process eviscerating their tenure protections. We’ll talk with them about Koch’s New Deal for Kansas Teachers.
