Voodoo Kittens
The Voodoo Kittens offer a special breed of afternoon blues entertainment. We start with the old masters and end up with contemporary blues. Along the way, the Kittens keep it real by throwing in musical styles which are offshoots of blues or were heavily influenced by and/or blended with blues to produce new sounds: rockabilly, R&B, early soul, country, jazz, zydeco, Cajun, swamp pop, and anything else that might temporarily sway our feline senses.
Tune in and get your groove on with Ms. Katnip of the Voodoo Kittens on Tuesday from 3-6 p.m. Ms. Katnip will be spinning blues and soul. At 4:30 the Super Secret Guest DJ will make a special appearance with some vintage blues vinyl. After the news at 5:00 former KKFI blues DJ and owner of Red Hot Records Suzanne Colbert will be in the studios to celebrate the life of Lawrence and Kansas City harmonica legend Lee McBee and talk about his cd “44″ recorded on Red Hot Records in 1995.
