On May Day 2017, workers filled the streets all over the world for international workers day. In the US, many immigrants protested and struck. Here in Missouri, no one was surprised by the protests of workers and immigrants in Kansas City and St. Louis, but there was even one in Kirksville called the Unified Mayday. It brought together immigrant workers from the Smithfield pork plant in Milan and Kirksville citizens and students. Heartland Labor Forum was there.
