Medical Marijuana An Update on the Studies and the Legislation

Calendar March 18, 2013

The KC Building Trades Unions and Builders Association in conjuction with the NAACP and IBEW 124 Minority Caucus are sponsoring the 2nd Skilled Trades Community Outreach Forum, Saturday March 23rd from 10am to 3pm at Swope Park Shelter House #1. This forum is open to men and women 18 or older and the Helmets to Hardhats program will be there to assist veterans. An introduction to, information on and applications for railroad and construction trade unions will be available.

The Urban Summit group is holding a Health Mini Summit, Friday March 29th, 8:30 to 10 AM at Palestine Missionary Baptist Church, 3619 E 35th St, KCMO. Registration begins at 8AM and breakfast will be served. This summit will address the issues surrounding the renewal of the Health Care Levy on the April 2nd ballot in KCMO.

The Buy Black Empowerment Initiative will kick off their 21st Century Bussiness Growth and Job Creation Campaign March 21st , at St Mark’s Child and Family Development Center, 2008 E 12th St, KCMO. There will be a reception from 5:30 to 6PM with the prsentation from 6 to 7PM. This event is a KC Black United Front Initiative and is cosponsored by six other community groups. Connections to Success has a part time Court Liaison position available. This job requires accompanying participants to court, assisting them in navigating the legal process, working closely with court officials and participants to inform them of programs at Connections to Success. Applicants will need to be proficient in Microsoft Office and the use of email.
