Military Domestic Violence: Why the Military Ignores Spousal Abuse

This afternoon on WINGS, Deborah Harrison and her collaborators interviewed more than 100 survivors of abuse and their partners for a study of domestic violence responses in military communities. The audio is from a panel titled “Militarism, War and Women” recorded in 2005.

First aired in 2006, this program is reprised in solidarity with the Women’s International Network of AMARC – the World Association of Community Radio Broadcasters, which is distributing programming for the 16 Days Against Gender Violence (Nov 25- Dec 10) on the theme of militarism and violence against women.
