Nanotechnology and Health

Nanoparticles are so small that they slip through normal regulatory loopholes; they are already in the receipts we handle, our food packaging, clothing, and cosmetics. Little is yet known about their effects, but they can behave in strange and likely dangerous ways. Ilise Feitshans calls for international harmonization of regulation and for the public to inform itself about what is in our midst.

Feitshans directs The Work, Health and Survival Project. She is a lawyer with a Ph.D in international relations. Her dissertation was published in 2017 as “Forecasting Nano Law: Global Health Impacts.
