Each week the Pacifica Radio Archives chooses a program "From the Vault" of broadcasts in a half-hour program.
With the protests and violence breaking out across the nation during this Presidential election year, The Pacifica Radio Archives wanted to revisit arguably the most vitriolic election year moment to date: The 1968 Democratic Nation Convention captured in Pacifica’s landmark documentary A Night In Chicago.
In this documentary, A Night In Chicago, you will FEEL the heat of the summer, the sweat on the brow, the tension and brutality as the events unfold at the 1968 Democratic National Convention through our On-The-Ground field recordings. You will be a witness to the demonstrations in the Streets and Parks of Chicago in 1968.
The program ends with a poignant interview with Democracy Now s Amy Goodman, who will put the importance of Pacifica into perspective, different from all other news agencies.
