Written and produced in 1963 by Ruth (Hirschman) Seymore for KPFK Drama and Literature department. This is the first program of a two-part dramatization of the life of the poet and playwright, based on his letters, the writings of his wife, his friends, and his biographers. This episode deals with events up to the time of his trial.

Oscar Fingal O’Flahertie Wills Wilde was an Irish author, playwright and poet. After writing in different forms throughout the 1880s, he became one of London’s most popular playwrights in the early 1890s.
