Pipeline Stories of the Midwest

Midwestern states continue to be slated for multiple pipelines being built to carry oil to the Gulf of Mexico from North Dakota and Canada.

Stories of Iowans who continue to fight the pipeline, including the Bakken Pipeline Resistance Coalition and a lawyer for the Iowa Chapter Sierra Club who has been working with landowners on a lawsuit with an appeal to the Iowa Supreme Court. Also, landowners in central Iowa who joined forces to support the resistance with a group called the Private Property Rights Coalition.

In the second half of the show: environmental activist Winona LaDuke of Honor the Earth and resident of the White Earth Reservation in Minnesota, tells the story of pipeline struggles in Minnesota.
