Professor’s Lifetime Working for Peace and Justice

In this program, former students, friends and colleagues honored the deceased Dr. Compton, former professor at De Pauw University in Indiana, who died in 2007 at the age of 98. Many lives were touched by this fierce advocate for social justice.

This program was produced in 2007 before his death. The program features interviews with Professor Compton, discussing his personal history, his teaching philosophy and his unwavering commitment to progressive social change.

Former students and colleagues also reflected on the state of campus activism from the 1950s to the present, and personally celebrated Russell this legacy of resistance, activism, and hope.
