Ray Krone – Exonerated Off Death Row and Cannabis Legalization Election Run Down

Ray Krone – DNA Exonerated him off Death Row

Another exonerated citizen helps build the case against the Death Penalty. Ray Krone grew up in a small town, played little league baseball, sang in the church choir, spent 6 years in the Air Force, was a postal carrier and was targeted by a prosecutor and police department that desperately wanted to make him a killer. Ray’s case had prosecutorial misconduct, hiding evidence, shopping for experts that would give the expected testimony and eventually had his conviction overturned when advances in DNA testing proved someone else had committed the crime. The legislature of Arizona apologized to Ray but the prosecutor offered a reprieve from death row to the man who did commit the murder if he would implicate Ray.

Host Craig Lubow talks with Ray Krone about his journey to death row and back home. His parents and the community he grew up in stood behind him and funded his defense while he was in prison in another state.
