THIS WEEK Sunday, October 1, 2017 | 9-11AM

At 9:15am Mike Paget of the Green Guitar Folk House joins us to talk about October’s show featuring Ellis Paul (Oct.14).

We’re joined in the studio at 10:15am by Anthony Ladesich of The Hardship Letters. He’ll play live and talk about the upcoming show Tito’s Sound Machine KC w/ John Moreland & Hardship Letters. As a collective of Kansas City storytellers, The Hardship Letters craft musical front porch tales with echoes tracing back to the dust bowl era. With a sound that at turns is as spare as the American plains or as powerful as a Midwestern thunderstorm, these veteran musicians combine haunting vocal harmonies with deep soulful rhythms as they sing stories of heartbreak and loss, being trapped and moving on, new endings and old beginnings. Listeners are sure to hear influences of Neil Young, Woody Guthrie, The Jayhawks, Nick Cave, The Cowboy Junkies, Townes Van Zandt and many more. However, this is a band who crafts a sound that is very much their own.

Scotty Stanton is back to co-host. We pick up our “Vinyl Alphabet Project” with the C’s and the D’s (since we missed the game last week!)

Plus, roots music from our collections.
ALL ABOARD!
